In 1958, two friends decided to make the most out of their complementary know-how. Mr. CHASTAGNOL, who graduated in the prestigious French engineering school of Centrale, and led the French subsidiary of the valve manufacturing company AUDCO, decided to found CAI. He asked his friend Mr. TERILLON, naval engineer and owner of the machining company SURAL, to manufacture for him the actuators. The first CAI 1/4 turn rotative actuators with superior quality standards are the fruits of this collaboration. Hundreds of these first generation actuators are still operating today on facilities across the whole world. Professionals and specialists have acknowledged them for their quality, their robustness and their reliability. In the following years, an extensive range of linear actuators was designed to complement the 1/4 turn family.
... and time for retirement arrived for the two founders!
In 1986, Mr. MOLINARO, general manager of SURAL, decided to create VALMECA in order to take over and extend the whole machining activity. Since then, VALMECA has been manufacturing all the CAI actuators. On the other hand, CAI was sold in 1989 to BETTIS UK, a subsidiary of EMERSON Group.A new page of this history was written in 2009, when Mr. MOLINARO decides to acquire CAI in order to merge production facilities (VALMECA) and sales activity (CAI). The aim of this merger is to re-dynamize a formerly thriving business. In order to succeed in this ambitious challenge, one single entity was created under the name CAI ACTUATORS.
The two pillars of this project are to keep alive our past tradition of quality, and to master the manufacturing of our products. This enables us to bring quick and accurate answers to the needs of our Clients.
OUR KNOW HOW
Our products are suitable for very different applications, such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Nuclear Industry, Conventional Industry. They have been adapted and validated in the most extreme conditions, from negative temperatures in Russia to the heat of Sahara. All the productions are made on our French site of Sannois (95), which gives us a total control over quality and timelines. Since CAI actuators was created in 2009, we have placed huge efforts in having our products' quality officially recognized, and have ensured their compliance with the latest standards. Thus, our quality management system complies with the ISO 9001/2008 standard, and our products comply with the EU Directive 94/9/CE for their use in explosive atmospheres ATEX; They also comply with the EU Directive DESP 97/23/CE for equipments under pressure. When you choose a CAI actuator, you're ensured to get a technically reliable product. Our team has acquired a unique experience over the last 40 years, which enables us to design tailored solutions for our Client's needs, and meet their demanding deadlines.
We completely design, manufacture, sell, install our actuators on our customer's sites all over the world, and ensure their post-installation maintenance.
